Hugo Demaret
Doctoral student
I am currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Caen, under the supervision of Paul Dorbec. My research interests lie in graph theory and combinatorics, with a particular focus on domination problems in various classes of graphs, especially planar and product graphs. I am also strongly interested in the probabilistic method.
Before my doctoral studies, I completed a Master’s degree in the Foundations of Computer Science (MPRI) at École Polytechnique in Paris, France, following a Bachelor’s degree at Université Paris Cité.
As part of my academic journey, I was a research intern at the University of Caen, within the AMACC team of the Groupe de Recherche en Informatique, Image et Instrumentation de Caen (GREYC | UMR 6072), again under the supervision of Paul Dorbec. Our work explored domination in maximal planar graphs.
Prior to that, I interned at the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire des Sciences du Numérique (LISN | UMR 9015), under the guidance of Hoang La and François Pirot. This project focused on the Fractional Domatic Number (FDOM) in graphs with small minimum degree, combining techniques from structural graph theory and probabilistic methods.
My main academic interests revolve around combinatorics, graph theory, and the probabilistic method.
